MIB drives data into BIBA 2018

MIB will be showcasing the vital role that data plays in reducing the levels and impact of uninsured and hit and run driving, fighting fraud and improving the customer experience, at the BIBA 2018 Conference and Exhibition on 16 and 17 May.

MIB has been an ongoing supporter of BIBA and is attending the event this year to showcase its first class data asset management, with representatives available to talk about MIB’s array of data services including the Motor Insurance Database (MID) and the MyLicence service.

The MID, which helps to identify uninsured vehicles and enables the police to remove them from our roads, is the only central insurance record of more than 40 million vehicles in the UK. It supports a range of users, including the police, solicitors, the DVLA, insurers and the public, who are each entitled to different levels of information about insured vehicles.

Also on hand will be Lancashire Police who will be discussing the valuable relationship between MIB and the police. Accompanying them will be a police motorbike equipped with Automatic Number Plate Recognition (ANPR) technology, providing delegates with not only a great photo opportunity, but also the chance to learn more about the way insurance data works with ANPR.

In addition to exhibiting MIB’s work with the police, representatives will also be on the stand discussing MIB’s other important data services, including MyLicence. The MyLicence platform provides real-time driving licence data from the DVLA at point of quote, eliminating the costly need for post-sales validation of driving licence data.

MyLicence also acts as an essential fraud fighting tool, as the use of real time data means the customer is no longer afforded the ability to commit application fraud through misdeclaration of details. This is not only a benefit for the insurer, but to their customers too, as the use of the MyLicence platform can make the customer journey faster and more efficient.

The MyLicence representatives at BIBA will be able to explain the wide ranging benefits of MyLicence, equipped with case studies from insurers and brokers who currently utilise the service.

Anna Fleming, Chief Operating Officer at MIB, commented: “MIB is delighted to attend and support BIBA again this year with the event providing an excellent platform for us to engage with brokers and insurers and share the valuable work we do all year round. We’re also especially grateful to Lancashire Police for joining us on our stand, providing an interactive and educational opportunity for the market.”

The new MyLicence Customer Document is available for anyone who would like more information about the service.
