Introducing askIDA
In response to a core recommendation of the Insurance Fraud Taskforce to make claims data freely available to the general public, MIB have been working on a project to do just that.
Whether it is used to fight fraud, improve the customer journey, or for product pricing - the integrity of shared data is vital.
Progress on creating the new web-based public enquiry service is well advanced.
Branded AskIDA (Insurance Data Access), the service will mean consumers are able to search for any claims and incidents recorded against them on the CUE database (Claims and Underwriting Exchange). Customers will need to pass an identity verification check and the service will include records for motor, home and personal injury.
By giving the public easy access to this data, not only will it be easier to spot and rectify errors but it will also mean that customers are less likely to make inadvertent mistakes by having to rely on their memory for claims histories.
There is still work to be done before the new service will be available to the public. In parallel with the technical development, which will continue throughout 2018, we will be working closely with insurers to ensure that the industry is ready with all the necessary processes in place before AskIDA is launched.
Further progress updates will follow. In the meantime, for further information or to enquire about joining CUE please contact the CUE team at CUEandMIAFTRMailbox@mib.org.uk
