MIB's comment on Vnuk progress

29 October update:

The MIB welcomes the progress of the Motor Vehicles (Compulsory Insurance) Bill, which has today passed its Second Reading in the House of Commons. We are grateful to Peter Bone MP for tabling the Bill and for his efforts in progressing this legislation. There are still a number of hurdles that the Bill must overcome if it is to become law, and we will continue to watch with interest.

Until this is resolved, Vnuk will remain an unnecessary and impractical ruling which, by the Government’s own estimation, could increase UK motorists’ premiums by £50 a year by picking up the cost for accidents involving racing cars, lawn mowers and quad bikes on private land.
