New Navigate delivery timeframes announced

We will deliver the MID transition to Navigate in early Q2, 2024 and MIAFTR Go Live will follow by the end of Q2, 2024. Although we would like to provide more definitive dates, the complexities of some of our ongoing discussions with key stakeholders mean that we’re unable to do so at this point. We’ll let all stakeholders have more definitive timeframes as soon as we can, to enable organisations to plan accordingly.

We are facing an ongoing challenge with police readiness to integrate with Navigate, which is a fundamental dependency for go-live. As you may be aware, the Home Office is leading the roll-out of the National Law Enforcement Data Service (NLEDS) a significant programme of work which will ultimately replace the Police National Computer (PNC).

We have been working closely with the police since the inception of the Navigate programme. However, in July the police communicated that, as a result of delays with NLEDS, they could not connect to Navigate in the timescales originally anticipated.

We continue to engage with the Home Office and police and we have agreed a temporary solution that will enable the PNC to connect to Navigate. Once NLEDS is fully operational across all police forces, we will decommission that interim fix. This will enable the police to continue receiving industry data and carry out their important work to remove uninsured vehicles from UK roads.

Readiness planning

It is equally important that insurers and data suppliers – as providers of the data to the Navigate platform – are ready, given the regulatory and reputational risk to firms should they not be able to connect with the databases.

As a result we are increasing our efforts over the coming months to support all stakeholder organisations to address their own readiness challenges, as they prepare for Navigate.

While we work through this detailed readiness planning, we have temporarily paused our work with customers to test their access and ability to upload data – Customer Verification Testing (CVT).
