MIB commits to further consultation on Navigate delivery timeline

In 2022, in response to stakeholder feedback, we embarked on a significant two-year programme to build and launch Navigate, a single data platform for MID and MIAFTR. 

We continue to make good progress on what is an extensive and complex programme for both MIB and our stakeholders – together the databases hold two billion records and are used and updated by the insurance community and the police around seven million times every month.  

In recent weeks, following discussion with a number of stakeholders, and after careful consideration, it is clear that there is significant pressure on all parties to meet the challenging delivery timescales. 

As a result, we are committing to reevaluate the timeframe to launch Navigate.  

Over the coming weeks we will be talking to stakeholders and providers to further understand their needs, readiness and challenges so that we can produce a revised timeline which ensures Navigate is launched at a time to suit and benefit all users.  

The existing MID and MIAFTR services will remain available. Work in key Navigate workstreams such as Customer Verification Testing and reviewing the Master Product Agreement will continue.
