Latest Update

We're continuing to support individual customers and resolve specific outstanding issues using our 'fix forward' approach.

Thsi page has been regularly updated but as we move towards a BAU model for Navigate the team will update it only with deployments that affect our wider customer base. We’ll also email these updates to our named contacts from Navigate organisations.

We’ll continue to work closely with individual customers affected by specific issues.

Wednesday 7 August

The recent change freeze has been lifted and we’re continuing to work on deployments to fix issues with Check Your Vehicle. 

We’ll update you further when we have deployment dates.

Wednesday 31 July

Please be advised we're initiating a change freeze. This will allow for improved testing processes to be introduced which will reduce the risk of further defects occurring when deploying new code into production. 

We'll provide a further update next Wednesday.

The issue affecting the Navigate portal has now been resolved. We're continuing to investigate the cause of this short outage and thank users for their patience.

Thanks for your patience as we continue to work through these important fixes, prioritising issues with the greatest impact. We’re taking the time to ensure that fixes implemented are robust and fully tested.

There are several releases this evening that are isolated to individual customers. These customers will be informed directly once their issue has been resolved.

We can confirm there are no deployments going in this week as we continue to work on, and test, the fixes for outstanding bugs.

Thursday 11 July

We can confirm there are no deployments going in tonight as we continue to work on and test the fixes for outstanding bugs.

Next week, we’re moving to a weekly deployment every Wednesday evening, after hours. We’ll provide information on the planned fix on this page every Wednesday and post an update the following day if the deployment didn’t go ahead.

In the event of an outage or incident we may implement fixes outside of these deployment days. Once we transition into ‘business as usual’ we’ll review the release cycle again.

Scheduled fixes

SFTP File Submission: E077 and E079 Errors

Tonight, after hours, we will be deploying a fix to address several issues that have been occurring with E077 and E079 as follows:

Issue 1: New and Amend records in the same file are getting rejected with E077.

Issue 2: When new and truncating amend records are submitted in the same file, the OFF date of the new record is not getting truncated.

Issue 3: When multiple amend records are submitted in the same file with a truncating amend, the off date of the records existing in the database are not getting truncated. The amend records present in the same file are also not getting truncated.

Reminder to activate your Navigate account by 12 July

Today we have issued an email alert to any Navigate portal users who haven’t yet activated their Navigate account.

In accordance with MIB’s security policies, Navigate accounts that are inactive for 90 days are automatically locked. Therefore, any Navigate users who have not activated their Navigate account byMonday 22 July will have their account locked. 

If they’re unable to locate their original activation email, they can use this link to request a new one: https://identity.mib.org.uk/user/welcome/resetmylink

Here’s your latest Navigate update. 

Scheduled fixes 

Last night’s deployed fixes were successful but we’ll continue to monitor. 

An additional fix has also been implemented and was successful. 

This was to address the issue of vehicle amend records being submitted via attended file transfers in the Navigate portal creating an additional record and not updating the off-cover date of existing records. The functionality has been fixed and we are working on a data fix. 

Standard File Transfer Processing (SFTP)- notification of scheduled downtime Saturday 6 July 10-11am. 

The scheduled downtime that was due to take place last Saturday 29 June has been rescheduled for this Saturday 6 July. 

Please ensure the team responsible for submitting your batch files to Navigate are made aware of the following - 

SFTP processing will be temporarily paused between 10:00 and 11:00 on Saturday 6July, while we carry out an important upgrade. 

Users will still be able to access their SFTP account and submitfiles however the files will go on hold until the upgrade is completed.  

No change or action is required by users and SSH keys currently installed will continue to allow access after the upgrade. 

This work is required to improve our reporting capabilities.We apologise for any inconvenience this may cause.

Tonight’s scheduled fixes 

We have two fixes being deployed tonight (Monday) after hours. 

The first will consist of data changes and the second is a fix to date validation when adding/ amending vehicles on a policy in the Navigate portal 

We’ll update you tomorrow (Tuesday) following the deployment.
