Angus started as Chief Executive of MIB on 1 July 2024. He was formerly Group Chief Risk Officer at Hastings Group. He has a wealth of experience in a career spanning three decades, including 13 years in various leadership roles at Aviva. He has held executive positions in a wide range of business functions including commercial, legal, strategy and transformation and risk and compliance.

Harkamal, known as Harky, joined MIB in March 2024. 

He brings a wealth of experience of both PLCs and private equity environments centred around Financial Services and Insurance and is a fellow of the Chartered Institute of Management Accountants.

Harky has worked previously for RAC, Aviva, Cap Gemini, Restore and more recently Maxxia UK and brings a strong background of both strategic planning and financial acumen to MIB’s Executive team.

Outside of work Harky has three children and enjoys cycling and running and is a black belt in Tae Kwon Do.

Duncan joined MIB in 2022 as Head of Organisation Effectiveness and was promoted to Chief People Officer role in 2025. 

Duncan has worked across a variety of businesses and industries over his career. He brings a broad background of leading people and business change having worked for ASDA – Wal*Mart, Jaguar Land Rover, Worldpay, the NHS and the Civil Service.

Duncan is passionate about creating fantastic places to work and making sure everyone can be the best version of themselves. Outside of work Duncan is married, has three children and enjoys running, football and playing the guitar.

Chris joined MIB on 28 November 2022 as Chief Risk Officer. He is responsible for Risk, Compliance and Data Protection across MIB and client companies. Chris has extensive risk management experience across a range of (re)insurance companies globally. He has held senior risk positions at Vitality UK and Pacific Life Re. He is a Chartered Enterprise Risk Actuary, a Fellow of the Institute and Faculty of Actuaries and holds an MBA from Imperial College Business School.

James joined the MIB as Chief Services Officer in December 2022. James is responsible for the organisation’s strategy, strategic planning and customer relationship management; has responsibility for the database services the MIB provides including the Claims and Underwriting Exchange (CUE), the Motor Insurance Anti-Fraud and Theft Register (MIAFTR), Navigate and MyLicence; and manages the MIB’s client company relationships with the Employers’ Liability Tracing Office (ELTO), Insurance Fraud Bureau (IFB), Official Injury Claims Limited (OICL) and Claims Portal Limited (CPL). James is also responsible for the MIB’s Customer Operations including Continuous Insurance Enforcement, the Police Helpline and the MIB’s Information Centre.

James was previously Director of General Insurance Policy at the Association of British Insurers (ABI) where he represented the views of the UK’s insurance sector to Ministers, regulators, parliamentarians, and other senior stakeholders across the UK and internationally. Prior to joining the ABI, James worked at New Zealand’s (then) Ministry of Economic Development, having studied Law and Political Studies at the University of Otago, New Zealand.

Kjirste joined MIB as Chief Information Office in February 2023. She brings proven IT experience in significant business and system transformation, software development lifecycle, process re-engineering and Production support gained through a career in Wealth Management, Banking, and Insurance.

Andrew leads MIB’s claims operation, which sees over 26,000 claims from victims of uninsured and hit-and-run drivers each year. Andrew joined us in 2023 after 25 years at Aviva, where he was the driving force in a successful campaign for personal injury reform, and most recently, as their Technical Claims Director.
